Pilates is an exercise system created by Joseph Pilates back in the early 1900s. The system is excellent for developing core strength and improving posture and flexibility. It is particularly effective in helping with back problems and other postural issues.
Using unique and innovative Pilates equipment people see and feel excellent results quickly. Whether you are a complete beginner or more experienced you will soon benefit from the enhanced sense of well being that regular Pilates sessions can give you.

Although Pilates is often prescribed for treating postural issues, the system is actually a whole body conditioning program for everyone. The mat sequence consists of 34 exercises that use gravity and your own body weight to tone and condition all your muscles. The Pilates studio apparatus, the Reformer, Cadillac, Spine Corrector and Wunda Chair are designed to help you perform the exercises with greater accuracy and precision and also enables you to work in a way that is not possible with mat work alone.

 

 Joseph Pilates

The Pilates system itself was named after Joseph Pilates who, back in the early 1900’s, created a physical exercise system called Contrology. The Contrology regime consisted of 34 exercises that were designed to tone and condition the whole body. Today Pilates has become a world wide phenomenon and is recommended by physiotherapists, osteopaths and other healthcare specialists.

Pilates Classes

All group classes and one to one tuition are a combination of equipment and mat work.

1 to 1 sessions

Individual sessions are all about you, how you’re feeling and what your body needs.

Duet sessions

Working with one other person duet sessions are a combination of apparatus and mat work.

Mat Class

Our mat classes are for a maximum of 10 people and are held on Mondays and Thursdays.
