Whether you are looking for a way of toning and conditioning your body, or whether you want help with a specific issue Pilates has the potential to work in a number of ways.

At one level Pilates is a way of strengthening the deeper core stabilising muscles of the body and improving flexibility. At another level it is a way of correcting posture and helping with rehabilitation and/or injury prevention. At a deeper level still Pilates has the potential to connect you more deeply with your body, improving your overall mental, physical and spiritual well being.

Joseph Pilates

The Pilates system was named after Joseph Pilates who, back in the early 1900’s, created a physical exercise system called Contrology. The Contrology regime consisted of 34 exercises that were designed to tone and condition the whole body. Today Pilates has become a world wide phenomenon and is recommended by physiotherapists, osteopaths and other healthcare specialists.

Pilates Classes

All group classes and one to one tuition are a combination of apparatus and mat work. The studio apparatus was originally designed by Joseph Pilates himself. The reformer, cadillac, wunda chair and spine corrector are unique pieces of equipment that help you refine your practice and challenge you in ways that are not possible with mat work alone.

Class Options

1 to 1 sessions

Individual sessions are all about you, how you’re feeling and what your body needs. You will get to use all of the Pilates studio apparatus and be able to work in your own flow. Personal sessions are ideal for people who maybe in rehabilitation or who just want to benefit from the greater focus and results that one to one work gives you. The home-based studio ensures you have a quiet, private space in which to work and there is flexibility as to how often you train, whether you want a regular weekly session, or if you prefer fortnightly or monthly sessions.

Duet sessions
Working with one other person duet sessions are a combination of apparatus and mat work but the emphasis is mainly mat work.
Trio sessions
Working in a group of 3 the class is primarily mat work.
